Hi, I have felt like this too. My period was over a week late this month too, so that didn’t help! I have called our fertility clinic & asked for a face to face appointment with the nurse to do through the procedure as we were so unsure. They have now organised this for us & asked us to take all the medication with us, so the nurse can explain everything. Might be worth a try?

Hi Jess, you are entitled to a free round on the NHS even if your husband has a child from a previous. This rule was changed 5 years ago to allow. If you both have children then you can’t get funded IVF via the NHS. Hope this helps

Hi, We were told in December that due to a child from a previous relationship we were not eligible and have therefore had to go private.

Hi Katie, can I ask who told you this? We were told from a private clinic in 2021 during consultation that we would not be eligible for NHS funded ivf due to 1 of us having a child previously. We took their word for it and proceeded with private ivf. We were referred to the NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic after our 4th miscarriage. During this we found out from the NHS that we could be eligible for 1 round of NHS funded IVF. They have referred us and sent all the paperwork. We just need to wait and see

Is this dependant on your age too?

Hi Sarah, I was similar to you also. I just had 2nd round and did test yesterday and it was negative. First round only got 1 embryo so was gutted as had to do whole process again. This time at least we have 3 embryos in the freezer but I don't know if it's all a bit hopeless. The embryo they transferred last time was a grade A one apparently and they don't know why it doesn't take. Have 2 more cycles left in our 4 multi cycle package. It's so hard though, was so positive with the last round but it wasn't to be I guess. Good luck to you and I hope it's 3rd time lucky for us too. X

All of our appointments so far are separate, and we’ve been referred separately too (to gynae and urology). Is it worth seeing a private consultant, or will it make the wait even more difficult? We can’t afford to do IVF/ICSI privately so will have to wait for the NHS.

Just wondering if anyone else has been through something similar/has any advice for us. Thanks. 😊

I don't know if you've looked at the finance options available? There are certain packages that give you half money back if it doesn't work etc. Though this all depends on age. This seems to be offered via a separate company to the clinic's themselves but might make it more doable? We had to go private due to my age so have had to pay for it all which is very daunting but plus side is no waiting, apart from the whole process of drugs etc of course. Good luck xx

Hello we had a private consultation whilst waiting for the NHS we also needed ICSI and now need MACS as we were keen to see what they would recommend and get more information. It was one of the clinics on the nhs of clinics we could chose via the NHS and we are glad we did as we picked a different one based on the consult experience

Hi there - sorry this was my first post. I am on my first IVF cycle and there was a small cyst present at my baseline scan. It is still there after 4 days of STIMS and is considerably larger than my other 8 growing follicles. Has anyone had a similar experience? I have a feeling this cycle is going to be cancelled, but any shared thoughts or stories would be very comforting!
