Hi everyone, I just wanted to pop in with some tips on managing treatment in this little heatwave that we are having in the UK at the moment. Please drink plenty of fluids – at least 2-3 litres a day to stay hydrated.Rest if you need too – the heat can exhaust us and if you are having treatment or have recently had treatment, your energy levels will already be low so if you need to take some time out – do.Sun protection – make sure that you are wearing SPF when in the sun, sun burn can make you feel very uncomfortable and heat stroke can cause vomiting which can make you feel much worse if you are already going through treatment.Electrolytes – if you are seating a lot, you may be losing precious minerals so take on electrolytes to support – this can be in the form of berocca or other over the counter supplements.(Check out our Boots offer) NB. Always check with your Dr before taking any medication. Clothing – wear light an airy clothing and breathable cotton underwear if possible to allow free flow air – especially if you are using suppositories or pessaries as part of your treatment.Do you have any top tips to share?
