September marks PCOS awareness month. PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a very common condition (it affects 1 in 10 of us) that affects our ovaries and can cause abnormal cycles which can lead to problems conceiving. Symptoms include:irregular or absent periodsexcessive hair growth on the body and faceweight gainhair loss on the headacneabnormal/irregular cycles can mean that you do not ovulate so you may have difficulty trying to conceive. PCOS is often misdiagnosed and being on the contraceptive pill can sometimes mask the symptoms. If you are looking for support with a PCOS diagnosis then please reach out. We also have a great event coming soon which will provide a lot of information and top tips on managing PCOS! Keep your eyes peeled :)Take care,Fran x
